Google Video

It is a well known fact that Google Video has not been able to make much of a dent against the successful start-up YouTube. Here are some suggestions to enhance the standing of Google Video.

  • Integrate Google Analytics into the reports tab in Google Video
    • Thus videos uploaded from users will be of greater interest
  • A "recommended video" option on the front page
  • A customizable Front Page similar to Google Personalized Homepage
  • Social Options like a page for people who upload video's (So they can show their interests, pictures, etc.)
  • Enhanced video size (not the downgraded ones shown)
  • A far more enhanced Google Video Player (A library option, more player like options)
  • Options to share favorite videos with friends and family like a save option (YouTube)
  • Quicker pace in introduction of new features
    • To catch up with YouTube

Orkut

Being among one of the abandoned Google products in terms of enhancements, Orkut may become of the most powerful applications that Google can offer because many of the existing Google products can be integrated into the product creating a very very rich and competitive offering.

  1. Permanent intergration of Blogger and Orkut
  2. Intergration of Google Video as a method of uploading personal videos
  3. Integration into Google Picasa Web Albums
  4. Integration of GMail as the email client
  5. Integration of Google Calendar as the social calendar of choice
  6. Integration of Google Notebook in order to share ones web life
  7. Integration of Google Chat (Like in GMail)
  8. Similar setup like Joga (Google created)
